Take One

Terms of Service

Effective November 2, 2026

The short version
  • You own your videos and the edits we make from them.
  • Plans are monthly. Cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Only upload content you have the right to use, and check every edit before you post it.
  • Don't use Take One for anything illegal, hateful or deceptive.

These terms are an agreement between you and Take One, operated by Brandon Bradley in North Carolina, USA ("Take One", "we", "us"). They cover usetakeone.com, the Take One app, and any edits we deliver to you (the "Service"). By creating an account, joining the waitlist, requesting a free edit, or paying for a plan, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use Take One

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If you use Take One for a business or a client, you agree to these terms on their behalf and confirm you're allowed to. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in email secure.

2. What the Service does

You upload a raw video, along with any images, clips, links and notes. Take One cuts retakes and dead air, adds captions, animations and sound effects, and returns a finished video, usually with a storyboard you can review and change first. Editing is done in part by AI. The Service changes over time; we may add, change or remove features.

3. Plans, billing and cancellation

4. Free edit offers

Your first edit is free: one raw take up to 3 minutes, returned in three styles with a watermark, without rounds of changes. One free edit per person. Free edits may be limited each day, and we may pause or change the offer at any time without affecting edits already started. Receiving a free edit doesn't commit you to buy anything.

5. Your content

6. Our content and the animation library

The Service, its software, the animation library, templates, sound effects, styles, and the Take One name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You get a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use the animations and sound effects included in your Outputs as part of those Outputs. You may not extract them to resell, redistribute them as a separate library, or use them to build a competing product.

When the Service creates a new animation design for your edit, we own that design and may generalize it and add it to the shared library. Your video, voice, face, words, images and logos are never added to the shared library.

7. AI-generated edits: check before you post

AI can make mistakes: a misheard word in a caption, a cut in the wrong place, a graphic that doesn't fit. You're responsible for reviewing every Output before you publish it, and for what you publish. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok and YouTube have their own rules, including rules about labeling AI-edited content; you're responsible for following them. Trending sounds must be added inside those apps; we don't provide them.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to create or upload content that:

Also don't: try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around limits or security in the Service; share your account to avoid plan limits; scrape the Service; or upload malware. We may remove content, pause jobs or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on providers such as Stripe, Anthropic and Cloudflare, and links to platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your settings or by emailing us; download any Outputs you want to keep first. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms, that we need to close for legal reasons, or if we shut down the Service, in which case we'll give reasonable notice where we can and refund any prepaid, unused period. Sections 5 to 7 and 11 to 14 survive after your account ends.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that Outputs will be free of mistakes, or that any video will reach a certain number of views, followers or sales.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Take One won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

13. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded, how you used an Output, or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Disputes that aren't resolved will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for material changes we'll email account holders or show a notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, cancel before they take effect.
